Chapter 1480: Fatty is Really Clever

"Demon Emperor, you died so tragically!" Wu Liang knelt down with a thud, clutching a lump of what looked like internal organs or minced meat, wailing as if his own father had passed away.

Zu An couldn't help but remark, "Uh, there's no one else here. You don't need to put on a show of loyalty; just calm down."

"Where's Crown Prince Jinwu?" Wu Liang didn't get up; instead, he looked around.

"The Demon Emperor sent him away from this unknown land first," Zu An replied.

"Oh." Wu Liang immediately stood up, the tear stains on his face already vanished. He casually tossed aside the minced meat in his hand. "Is the Demon Emperor truly dead?"

Zu An was speechless: "Do you think he could possibly survive in this state?"

Wu Liang was silent.

He sidled closer, grinning. "Brother, how did the Demon Emperor die, and so tragically?"

A jolt went through the others. They had just been discussing this very question and hadn't yet reached a consensus.

Just then, Yun Jianyue pointed to the sky. "Heavenly retribution suddenly descended, and that's how the Demon Emperor ended up."

"Heavenly retribution?" Wu Liang's eyes widened in surprise.

Yun Jianyue sneered, "What else could it be? Do you think we killed him?"

Wu Liang rubbed his hands together and chuckled, "Cult Master, you jest."

Given the Demon Emperor's cultivation, even if they had ten more people, they would only have been severely beaten. There's no way he could have died so tragically.

Yan Xuehen and the others exchanged peculiar glances, but inwardly, they breathed a sigh of relief. They had indeed been too close to the situation. Given the vast power difference between the two sides, even if they told the truth that Zu An had killed the Demon Emperor, no one would have believed it.

"Was that terrifying explosion just now the heavenly retribution?" Wu Liang asked, glancing towards the blast site with lingering trepidation. In all his years of cultivation, he had never witnessed such destructive power.

"Yes, that's right. We saw several meteors suddenly descend from the sky, and then a massive mushroom cloud rose up," Zu An replied, straight-faced.

"No wonder it was so formidable; it was heavenly retribution," Wu Liang said, swallowing hard. He had, after all, witnessed a higher level of power with the Demon Emperor and his son before, when Crown Prince Jinwu's Sun-Shooting Bow was seized by an inexplicable force that even the Demon Emperor couldn't stop.

If such power were to unleash heavenly retribution, it would indeed possess such immense might.

"Oh, by the way, I think I saw two of those terrifying explosions just now. The second one seemed even more powerful than the first. Did Heaven send down two instances of heavenly retribution?" Wu Liang suddenly recalled something and asked.

"Yes, that's right. During the first wave of heavenly retribution, the Demon Emperor successfully blocked it and managed to escape, which then provoked the second, more powerful retribution," Zu An explained, without a flicker of emotion. The three women found his composure odd, but they understood the gravity of the situation and showed no hint of amusement.

Wu Liang sighed in admiration, "Indeed, he lived up to his title as Demon Emperor. With his peerless divine power, he could even withstand heavenly retribution once."

"Yes, absolutely," Zu An agreed. "The Demon Emperor had already achieved invincibility in this world, but unfortunately, he encountered a guest from the heavens."

Wu Liang's expression was peculiar. "World... heavens..." Could it really be interpreted that way?

"Oh, and why exactly did the Demon Emperor provoke heavenly retribution?" This was the part he found most inexplicable.

"How should I know?" Zu An replied casually. "Maybe he was too arrogant, or too ugly, and Heaven just found him repulsive."

Wu Liang was speechless.

*Could he actually say such a thing?*

Yan Xuehen knew such an explanation was too absurd and quickly interjected, "It's more likely that the Demon Emperor coveted the immortal elixir, and the will of heaven and earth would not tolerate that."

With this explanation, Wu Liang immediately understood and couldn't help but lament, "Following the Demon Emperor all this way, I learned a lot about the immortal elixir. It seems such an elixir truly exists in this world, but unfortunately, it's not destined for us."

"You're not going to look for it?" Zu An asked, a little surprised. Wu Liang was notoriously greedy for wealth, yet he seemed entirely unaffected by this news.

"Even the Demon Emperor was annihilated; am I supposed to go and seek death?" Wu Liang's cheeks flushed. In truth, after his narrow escape from Gonggong earlier, he had indeed searched for the immortal elixir but found nothing.

Fortunately, he had found some other valuable items later, so this trip hadn't been entirely in vain. Of course, he couldn't tell Zu An any of this; they were a large group, and if they harbored ill intentions, it would be difficult for someone like him.

Just then, Yun Jianyue suddenly exclaimed, "Oh no, the exit passage is likely about to close!"

It was unclear if it was due to the immense power of the previous nuclear explosions, but the spatial elements across the entire realm had become highly unstable. The spatial vortex in the distance was already showing signs of collapse.

A chill ran through them. If the exit closed, they would be trapped in this world forever.

Although the vital energy here was more abundant, they all had too many ties in the outside world and wished not to be trapped here.

Furthermore, if they truly remained here, no one could guarantee whether this world would be destroyed once the passage sealed shut.

With a whoosh, Wu Liang darted towards the distant spatial vortex.

He hadn't expected such a plump figure to be so agile. What was even more striking, however, was the pair of small wings that had appeared on his back.

The corpulent body and tiny wings seemed entirely mismatched, and it was a mystery how they managed to keep him airborne.

"It's a magical artifact. That fat wretch certainly has a lot of good treasures," Yun Jianyue mused.

Zu An no longer had the strength to manifest the Golden Chariot. Instead, he summoned his Wind-Fire Wheels, scooped up the three women, and swiftly followed.

The Wind-Fire Wheels were much faster; even while carrying the three women, Zu An quickly caught up to Wu Liang.

Wu Liang frantically flapped the small wings on his back, beads of sweat dripping from his plump cheeks. Hearing the commotion behind him, he turned to see Zu An and his companions.

His eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

*What was I seeing?* Zu An was carrying the human race's most beautiful woman on his back, embracing the Demonic Cult Master on his left, and the White Jade Capital Master on his right. The crucial point was that none of the women showed any trace of shyness; they seemed completely accustomed to the situation.

For a man to be embracing two women was already enviable enough, but he was simultaneously holding three — each one an exceptionally beautiful and alluring woman. Furthermore, they weren't mere playthings serving men with their looks; these women were all formidable figures in their own right!

How in the world did this damned Zu An manage all of this? Is there no justice left?

If heavenly retribution truly existed, it should strike this fellow down and let other men have a chance!

"What are you staring at?" Zu An asked, noticing his strange expression.

"Heh heh, I'm just envious of Brother Zu enjoying the bliss of having multiple beautiful companions," Wu Liang chuckled. "Do you have any secrets you could teach your brother?"

These words instantly made all three women blush furiously. While Yu Yanluo might have been somewhat accustomed to it as his official girlfriend, Yan Xuehen and Yun Jianyue suddenly felt the hands around their waists become uncomfortably warm.

However, they had just been drained of their strength and were unable to fly on their own, so they could only allow Zu An to carry them.

Yun Jianyue glared fiercely at Wu Liang. "You fat wretch, if I hear even a whisper of a rumor after we get out of here, I'll rip your tongue out."

The Demonic Cult Master's murderous aura was almost palpable. Wu Liang shivered and meekly asked, "That's not fair. What if one of them leaks it?"

Yun Jianyue stated flatly, "I'll still rip your tongue out."

Wu Liang was silent.

He also noticed the icy gaze in Yan Xuehen's eyes, realizing she likely shared the same sentiment. A wave of resentment washed over him; these women had already done what they did, yet they didn't want anyone to speak of it.

His earlier envy immediately evaporated. Such domineering and fierce women were best left for Brother Zu to endure; they absolutely shouldn't be let loose to harm other men.

"Don't worry, Cult Master Yun, once we're out, I absolutely won't speak of your affairs to a third person," Wu Liang vowed, raising a finger.

*Unless they pay me more,* he added silently to himself.

The esteemed Demonic Cult Master and the White Jade Capital Master, two world-renowned mortal enemies, now practically sisters sharing one husband! Tsk, tsk, tsk. If this explosive information got out, it would certainly fetch a hefty price.

*I only promised not to tell a third person; I didn't say anything about a fourth or fifth, did I? Hahaha, I'm so clever!*

They sped along, and fortunately, they hadn't been too far from the exit. Finally, they reached it.

Just as they breathed a sigh of relief, their expressions suddenly changed. The spatial vortex ahead was rapidly shrinking; it had been about ten zhang wide, but in an instant, it was less than one zang.

At this rate of contraction, it might completely vanish in the next second.
