Chapter 838: Heaven and Earth Reversed

Zu An looked up at the sky. An incredibly thick bolt of lightning descended, splitting into several branches and illuminating the dark sky as brightly as day.

In his previous life, if he had witnessed this scene, Zu An would probably have posted something online like "Which fellow cultivator is undergoing tribulation here?" But now, experiencing it firsthand, he had no such thoughts.

After reaching the Eighth Grade, cultivators could borrow the power of heaven and earth. Zu An had experienced that feeling before, but it paled significantly in comparison to the true might of nature.

Evidently, the power of heaven and earth was extremely tumultuous and chaotic at that moment. The emperor's recent attack had caused the surrounding elemental energy to become disordered, inadvertently drawing the aimless lightning bolts towards it and shattering his attack.

Zhao Ruizhi looked up at the sky, his face grim. He clearly realized that if he continued to attack Zu An, his cultivation level would undoubtedly trigger the wrath of heaven and earth again. However, if he intentionally suppressed his power, he might not be able to harm Zu An.

He felt a surge of irritation. Under the current circumstances, a forceful attack from him would be pointless. He decided to let that guy live a little longer for now.

However, seeing Zu An and Bi Linglong tightly embracing, he felt a pang of jealousy. Zu An was the first person to openly defy him like this, yet he was temporarily unable to punish him.

Bi Linglong had already closed her eyes, resigned to death, but she never expected Zu An to block the emperor's attack. Filled with shock and joy, she couldn't help but look up at the man holding her. She had been amazed when he killed Shi Tong and later the Immeasurable Azure Moon Dragon, but she never imagined he could withstand two direct attacks from the emperor!

How many people in the world could achieve that?

Zu An also gazed at the sky, the apocalyptic feeling unsettling him deeply. The lightning was truly terrifying; some bolts even struck dangerously close to him. If he hadn't dodged quickly enough, he would likely have been turned into charcoal.

"Empress sister... Master, what exactly is happening?" Zu An's cultivation had grown rapidly, but he still lacked knowledge in many areas.

Mi Li's expression was also complex at this moment. "There's a familiar feeling, but unfortunately, this familiarity disgusts me."

Zu An was startled and urgently asked her what was going on, but no matter how he questioned her, she no longer responded.

He glanced warily at Zhao Ruizhi in the distance, seeing him also looking up at the sky with no intention of attacking again anytime soon. Only then did Zu An slightly relax.

Just then, a sudden change occurred.

From the dense forest in the distance, sudden cries of birds could be heard, followed by countless birds flying out of the woods, forming a dense black cloud. No one had imagined there could be so many birds in the forest.

At the same time, countless fierce beasts roared as they emerged from the mountains, a variety of creatures, some seen before and some unknown. Among them were even beings whose aura and cultivation level surpassed that of the previous Immeasurable Azure Moon Dragon.

Of course, more numerous were the weaker beasts, which ordinarily would be locked in a hunter-prey relationship. Yet now, none of them showed any desire to fight, instead fleeing together in unison.

"It seems something big is happening," Zu An said in a low voice. Even Zhao Ruizhi in the distance changed his expression, clearly having never witnessed such a strange phenomenon before.

Just then, a rumbling sound echoed as the distant mountain began to collapse. Countless clouds of dust billowed up, surging towards them like a landslide. Beasts that were too slow were almost instantly engulfed.

Everyone present was greatly alarmed. Zhao Ruizhi was the first to fly into the air, and Zu An also took Bi Linglong into the sky to evade. But for some reason, Zu An felt incredibly unstable while flying, nearly falling several times.

He merely attributed it to the immense drain from having just taken two direct blows from the emperor and didn't pay it much mind.

The assassins from Prince Qi's manor also fled. Zhao Ruizhi snorted, then with a flick of his sleeve, a gentle force swept them onto a nearby towering tree. They clung to the branches, their faces pale.

"Thank you, Your Majesty," He Li said, thanking the emperor on behalf of Prince Qi's manor. However, Zhao Ruizhi didn't spare them a glance, instead looking up at the sky with a thoughtful expression.

Zu An considered using this opportunity to escape, but he also worried about alerting the emperor and provoking a desperate attack. He found himself in a dilemma.

Just then, Mi Li's voice rang out: "Heaven and earth are about to undergo a massive change. Be prepared."

"What does that mean?" Zu An was startled. Just as he was about to ask, the world suddenly shook violently. Even floating in the air, he felt a wave of nausea.

An earthquake?

That was Zu An's initial thought, but he immediately dismissed it. With his current cultivation and floating in the air, even the most powerful earthquake in his previous life wouldn't make him feel like this.

Just then, a trembling voice came from one of Prince Qi's assassins: "The sky... has the sky split open?"

Zu An looked up abruptly. At that moment, a bright lightning bolt flashed, revealing the red mark across the sky, resembling a celestial river, was significantly wider than before and was now expanding outwards at a visible rate.

"The sky split?" Zu An was dumbfounded. The current situation was beyond his comprehension.

He wanted to ask Mi Li, but she remained silent.

He gritted his teeth in frustration. Her habit of going offline without warning was infuriating; he needed to find a chance to teach her a lesson.

In that instant, the red mark in the sky suddenly expanded exponentially outwards, revealing a colossal, pitch-black rift.

By this time, the ground had also split open everywhere. The once solid earth undulated like an ocean caught in a hurricane.

Enormous fissures spread out, and in some places, magma even erupted directly.

A fierce wind swept through the air. Even with Zu An's cultivation, he couldn't withstand it, being tossed about. Fortunately, he managed to grab a nearby large tree to barely maintain his balance.

But with the ground shifting so violently, he wondered how much longer the tree would last.

Everyone was in disarray, except for Zhao Ruizhi, who remained floating motionless in the air, unaffected by the raging winds and storm around him.

Zu An felt a hint of admiration; this guy was indeed powerful.

He hastily asked Mi Li: "Empress Master, it feels like this secret realm is about to collapse. Why isn't he taking the opportunity to leave? Why does he insist on staying here? If this world truly collapses, wouldn't even his cultivation lead to certain death?"

"Just 'Master,' not 'Empress Master'!" Mi Li was clearly displeased with his address. "The reason he isn't leaving is, of course, because he sees this as a precursor to the fusion of two secret realms. This represents an enormous opportunity, and how could he bear to miss it?"

Zu An wanted to ask more, but then suddenly the world spun, and he found himself instantly inverted.

"What's happening?" Zu An was horrified. He noticed various screams coming from Prince Qi's assassins around him. Many, caught off guard, tumbled from the trees they were clinging to and fell into the air.

Strangely, normally they would fall to the ground from a tree, but instead, they were falling *into* the sky!

This was because the sky and the ground had distorted, with the sky now below and the earth above.

This sudden upheaval disoriented even Zhao Ruizhi, who had been sitting calmly in the air as if fishing. Several times he failed to stabilize himself, his ungraceful flailing now visible to many.

Just as he was about to get angry, his expression suddenly changed. He found he could no longer maintain his levitation, and he abruptly plummeted towards the sky beneath his feet.

The people from Prince Qi's manor were in even worse shape, screaming as they fell into the sky.

Zu An's expression changed. With one arm around Bi Linglong, he desperately clutched a nearby large tree. Unfortunately, the tree didn't hold for long; it was ripped from the ground, and the entire tree along with the earth beneath it plummeted into the sky.
